Nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains is a sparkling jewel - Lake Lure, North Carolina. Named “one of the most beautiful man-made lakes in the world” by National Geographic, the lake spans approximately 720 acres and features 27 miles of shoreline.

The resort community at Lake Lure was the vision of Dr. Lucious B. Morse, who first came to the area in the early 1920’s seeking a haven of wellness and tranquility. A dam was subsequently constructed which resulted in the creation of the lake in this area of breathtaking beauty. The town of Lake Lure was incorporated in 1927, the same year the historic Lake Lure Inn and Spa started providing luxury accomodations to visitors.
